Internet is one of the greatest inventions of our time. Many children all over the world have an access to it. There is an opinion that surfing the Internet is harmful for children and they have to use it as less as possible while others strongly disagree. Let us speculate what stands behind it.

I am convinced that youngsters should spend less time using the World Wide Web. First of all, children must be concentrated on their future education but surfing the Net distracts them from getting necessary knowledge. Moreover, teenagers lose sense of reality living a virtual life. They experience great problems communicating with their parents and friends. A further convincing argument is that many kids damage their eyesight looking at the computer screen all day long. As a result, they feel tired and irritated.

However, there is another side to the issue. It is said that Internet cannot influent children badly. A major benefit is that using the Net develops their mind and imagination because only there kids can get much information about any question. Besides, Internet gives young people great opportunities to make friends with foreigners, learn their traditions and customs.

To a certain extent, it can be right but we should not forget that surfing the Internet children are exposed to information which is not appropriate for their age. It can also show teenagers a wrong view of the whole world and bewilder them.

In conclusion, I believe that Internet has a negative influence on children. It deprives them of sleep, rest and free time. To my mind, the Web should be used only in case of real need.
